Are we able to transfer her super to my superannuation fund or will we lose this overtime in fees and be unable to do anything with it?

You cannot have a joint super account. You can invest 2 accounts together via an SMSF but you retain your own balance in the background. If one is over 60 and retired they could withdraw their account and then recontribute to the partners account if they can still make contributions. Explore your specific personal options with your fund or an adviser.
